ای شهر شلوغ مرگ

اندوه بی سرانجام

یائسه آواره

!کابل

ای غریب ترین عابر

غریب ترین تاریخ بیرون زده از جنگ

غریب ترین زن شلاق خورده در شهر

ای بغض گم شده ی ناتمام

گریه کن

قطره

قطره

 بلخ را بامیان را

!کندز را

وقتی روسری مادرت به زمین افتاده

گریه کن

برای کندهار

،برای هرات

وقتی سرود عشق را لبیک می گویند

گریه کن

تا

خیابان خیس شود از خون، در چموش ترین نقطه جهان و زنان آواره ات

در برقعه ی از اندوه

صف بندند برای عقد

سربازان ات

گره بخورند

در کف کفن های خونین

!تا جهان منجوق بزند به داغی آه مادران خسته ات

Oh crowded city of death

Endless sorrow

Hopelessness adrift

Kabul!

Oh loneliest wayfarer

Loneliest history emerging from war

Loneliest woman flogged in the city

Oh lost endless sorrow

Cry

Drop

By

Drop 

Tears for Balkh for Bamyan

For Kunduz!

When your mother’s scarf is falling to the ground

Cry 

For Kandahar

For Herat

When the anthem of love is accepted

Cry

Until 

The street is soaked with blood in the most vicious place on earth and uprooted women

Under a veil of sorrow

Are lined up for marriage

Your soldiers

Twisted

In bloody shrouds 

Until the world is crowned with the plaintive signs of your weary mothers
