Give Me a Piece of Land

Give me a piece of land,
Where I bury my body but not my soul
Where I bury my despair of letdown but not the thrill of my well-done
Give me a piece of land,
Where I dream but not scream
Where I train but not detain…
Give me a piece of land, just a piece of land.

Give me a piece of land,
Where I can plant my bud seeds but not to uproot my bad deeds
Where I honor my prides but not conceal my flaws
Where I start a life of tries and to stop a life of cries.

Give me a piece of land, a lease of hand, home and ambition
Where I crow and grow and flow in the desert of triumph
Where I throw my pains away and heal the flesh and bones of clay
where I flame the torch of my dreams but not crack the ties of my griefs
Give me a piece of land, just a piece of land.

And give me a piece of land,
Where I can play for my health, but not pray for my death
Where I please my soul but not release my thorns
Where I bury my body but not my soul
Give me a piece of land, just a piece of land.
